About eBONY

Chow Chow
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Dear young Ebony was found as a stray and came into the Solano County shelter scared and with missing a bit of fur on her back from neglect, but is now warming up to staff and we have nice videos of her being walked happily on a leash and wanting to play with another dog. However, sadly, Ebony finds herself at great risk now being designated Rescue only at a shelter (for medical and being scared at intake). The shelter has told us they are more than full, so Ebony will be at risk for euthanasia soon. Because she is Rescue only, unfortunately she cannot be adopted by the general public directly from the shelter. Rather, any adopters must go through a rescue group. However, since most rescues also need fosters or a foster to adopt homes to save a dog, we are in dire need of finding either a foster or someone who wants to adopt that we can connect to a rescue (provided they are local, or local enough to a willing rescue). Ebony is said to be about 2 years old, she came on the smaller more petite side weighing about 45lbs and some missing fur on her back and behind, possibly from fleas or a skin condition. A rescue could assist with some medical. The shelter, says, ' She is hesitant with new people but warmed up with some patience and beggin strip cheese treats. Knows sit and walks well on leash. Once she is comfortable with you she allows you to pet and scratch her all over. Walked past another large male dog and appeared happy to meet the other dog. Please share with rescues. Available to rescue only due to medical, not available for adoption at this time. ' Rescues may contact the shelter rescue directly, but if you can foster or foster to adopt, please contact [email protected] or Southern California who is trying to assist with her placement, and can try to connect interested parties to a rescue group to assist.
