About Pierre

We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! :) Pierre is an almost 4 year old Shiba Inu, and true to his breed he is smart as a whip. While they might not be the best breed for everyone, so many people that have been blessed with one in their lives, would just love more!! A Shiba Inu is the most popular family dog in Japan. They do well in a number of settings, even apartments. They can be rather aloof and take their time meeting strangers. When Pierre came to us he was naturally standoffish. We could see that he was taking everything in, checking us out, the other dogs as well. I guess we passed his sniff test, because he has become quite loving and affectionate with us. Most Shiba Inu's can be a little bit reserved around other dogs as well and typically do better with their own breed. But, Pierre has been doing great around the other dogs, outside of our own larger male dog. We are looking for a home for Pierre where he can perhaps be an only dog, and home with older children would be best. He has enjoyed playing with the smaller dogs and one big goofy Wiemador puppy that came to visit. Pierre is a gorgeous boy of slight stature. He was a bit thin and is putting on weight. His family gave him up when they were moving. He has some hair loss on his feet which is suspected to be allergies. He is doing great on his very easy new diet and his hair has grown in well. He is a super intelligent boy, knows sit, down, spin, and shake, he is a people pleaser!! Pierre is also very loving, unlike some Shiba's, he loves to snuggly and give kisses, and will fall asleep standing up just waiting for his person to finish cooking or whatever task is at hand, poor guy!! We are looking for an active loving home where he will not be left alone for long hours. A home with previous Shiba Inu experience will be best, or a dog savvy home that is willing to learn some of the Shiba traits. We are suggesting a home with older children. Peirre is fully vetted and housetrained, he is a little gentleman. His adoption fee is $325. (We cannot guarantee Pierre is a purebred Shiba Inu.)
