About Rocky

Poor Rocky has had such a tumultuous few months. He was found three months ago abandoned by his owner in Kenwood. Because he was chipped, owner was located. He said that he could not afford to take care of Rocky anymore so he abandoned him in the Kenwood neighborhood of Bethesda because he thought that if someone there picked him up, he would be in a good home. The finder, Lisa, was able to get in touch with the owner's son William who said he would take the dog. But William is a young guy working two jobs and has no health and limited financial resources. Last week William contacted Lisa saying he could no longer care for Rocky. Because he was now located in PG county where BSL takes the lives of so many wonderful pit looking dogs Lisa took Rocky to a vet for boarding and get him up to date on vaccines and neutered. But after this week in boarding he has nowhere to go ��� Rocky is a super mellow, very sweet and affectionate dog. He does not really seem to understand toys or treats but once he figures out you have a treat in your hand he is very happy to gobble it down. He does not seem to like the crate, but I put his food and water bowls in there and as long as I leave the door open, he will go in and stay there some. William told Lisa that he is very docile and that he could walk him without a leash. While he is very sweet, he doesn't seem to have had much training but might responds to commands in Spanish. He was very good with owner's 6 & 7 year old nieces. He ignores the squirrels in the yard so probably not a lot of prey drive and cats might be a possibility.
