About Frida

Akita / Chow Chow
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Help! Young Frida is on the euth list and has been extended until 11-6 as a final deadline. Please watch the two videos we have as she is a sweet girl being pet all over and giving her paw. Please note while this young lady is listed as an akita, she also seems to have some chow in her with a blackish tongue and at intake weighed 52 lbs. Sadly, Frida was made Rescue only automatically because her owners alleged they could not keep her due to having grandkids. They claimed at some point, she bit someone over a year ago but gave no details (which may have just been an excuse and made up or due to human error). The shelter is at least NOT requiring any indemnity waiver since there is no proof she bit anyone, and Daniel the shelter manager told me he will release her to a non partnered rescue under the circumstances. Her behavior notes are that of a dog that would normally be adoptable. In fact, she was noted as Ready to Go Home which likely caused her to be overlooked by rescues, but when people called in they were told she was Rescue only which she is. Now, due to the mass confusion, she is at risk to be euthanized as she is out of time. The shelter only sent out a first and final plea a day ago. Frida is spayed and has a luxurious coat and long, curly akita like tail seen in videos, is healthy, and said to be okay with calm dogs. This is her listing link: This young girl should not have to die, as she seems very adoptable, but is Rescue Only due to extenuating circumstances. Please contact me asap if you can help ([email protected]) to save, foster, pledge, etc. Thank you dearly, Robin and Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network Videos and more pics here!
