LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY Introducing AUTUMN! STATS: 10-12 week old Terrier Chihuahua mix puppy LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Local adoption only, active home. HIGHLIGHTS: Sweet, friendly, happy pup! Great family dog. Adorable Autumn is the cutest scruffy 10 to 12 week old Terrier Chihuahua mix puppy who was being given away for free on the side of the road. One of our prior adopters saw Autumn (and her sister Amber) and asked if we would take them. She picked them up and brought them to us the next day! Based on Autumn's current age and size we are estimating that she will be a medium size dog, between 25 to 30 pounds fully grown. Autumn and her sister are being fostered together and they are typical puppies, very busy with little nap time. They love to explore and check in on the other dogs in the foster home, and they are not afraid of the big dogs. All they want to do is play with them! They love their fluffy bed, whether it's snuggling together in it or playing in it. Toys are a favorite, and the more they squeak the better. They are finding their barking voice but are not big barkers. They will alert you if they hear something outside though. Pretty Autumn weighs 6.4 pounds. She has long legs and can escape out of her puppy pen when she wants. To keep her safe, she sleeps through the night in a crate right next to the puppy pen her sister sleeps in. She is a climber and isn't above climbing over gates but she listens well and stops when you say 'no' . Since she cannot go outside yet, she is learning to use potty pads, a work in progress, because she and her sister think it's lots of fun to shred them! Autumn is the social butterfly of the two. She greets everyone with such loving enthusiasm. When you pick her up, she settles and gives lots of kisses. She has a favorite toy she likes to snuggle with and it will go with her to her new home. We recommend getting a puppy pen (a tall one) or a big crate to keep Autumn safe inside when she cannot be supervised. This can be a lifesaver if you have a high energy puppy eager to explore her new world! Autumn has had a wellness check, two sets of puppy shots, and has been fecal tested and wormed and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her next set of shots should be done around 11/17/22, and are covered by the rescue. She should not go outside until a week after the third set of puppy shots. When she is 6 months old she will get her spays, rabies vaccine, and any baby teeth will be removed as needed. That helps avoid certain dental issues as she ages. All of those procedures are also covered by the rescue. Since Autumn has pending appointments at our vet locally she is local adoption only which is considered within an hour drive to Pensacola, max.
