About Gunther

Gunther was taken from his mother very early. We had to bottle feed him and raise him. The vet believes this caused some social/anxiety issues with him. He broke his jaw playing at a young age and had surgery. It was successful but healed crooked and has caused quite the under bite. He also lost an eye and the vet was unable to get it to heal so it was removed. He seems to do fine with only one eye but he is a sight with the jaw and eye issue. He is high energy and does well with walks/runs and a backyard he can play in. The exception is anxiety wine barking when he sees another dog. He also seems to get anxious and has a barking fit at noises such as airplanes. He also barks very seriously when he wants to go outside and come inside. He does great with kids but he is a licker so he will get in their face and lick them (adults too). Ultimately he has not been getting along with our other small dog. He seems to get anxious/agitated and fight with her without obvious cause. I cant say he would be unable to live with another dog but I suspect he would do best as an only dog. We love Gunther but believe it is time for him to be in a better situation.
