About Luke

Luke is a gorgeous, affectionate, three-year-old male Catahoula Leopard dog who is wonderful with people, kids, and female dogs. He is a large dog who weighs around 70 pounds and his owner should have experience working with large, strong dogs. Luke is a purebred Catahoula with the rare 'ghost/phantom merle' coloration. He has stunning Catahoula 'glass' eyes - such a pale blue color that sometimes they look almost white. Luke is good in cars and while not really leash trained, he takes readily to training. He knows how to sit and wait for his dinner and can shake hands and lie down on command. Luke is incredibly loving and great with people and kids. Luke would do best as an indoor dog and needs a large fenced yard of his own. Luke is fantastic with female dogs and passive (non-aggressive) smaller male dogs, but can't be placed in a home with large, dominant male dogs. Luke also is not good with cats. 'Lucas Pookas' is sweet and gentle and adores his bed and his bunnies! He is a true cuddler who makes cute snorking sounds when he's being petted or when he's carrying his bunnies around (which he always does). Luke aka 'Capt. Wigglebutt' enjoys eating, chewing on rawhide chewies, taking long naps, and playing with his 'girlfriends' (our other female dogs). Luke is fully house-trained. Luke is also an impressive guard dog with a huge chest and a very loud bark. All in all -- Luke is a DREAM DOG. If there was any way we could keep adopt WE WOULD -- but we already have too many dogs so sadly, we can't be Luke's forever home. That said - we absolutely adore Luke and are committed to finding him the perfect home. If you adopt him and it doesn't work out -- we will gladly take Luke back!
