About Kaya

Kaya is a beautiful medium-sized mixed Border Collie or Aussie mix with a square head. This almost-4-yrs-old sweet girl loves her toys! She plays well with bigger dogs when off-leash and is very curious about the outdoor world. Loves a good run on the beach and sometimes will check the water temperature. She has wonderful recall and knows a few different whistles (stop, come around, and retrieve) and a lot of tricks and verbal commands. She knows the basics and has a nice long stay, and she knows many others, such as down, touch, thomp (paws the ground), leave it, off, up-up (on to higher surfaces and jump to touch the outstretched hand), bang, in-between (goes around and under her human's legs), side (walk at her human's side off leash) and heel (follows behind as her human zigzags around). She can be a bit nervous with strangers and as with all nervous dogs, she needs a calm, patient, confident leader who will help her stay calm, gentle, grounded and to ensure she feels safe.
