This breed is a mixture of about 8 different breeds... primarily the Border Collie and the Australian Dingo. Australia bred for 50 yrs to get the right balance of Border Collie (for brains and loyalty) and the Dingo (for a healthy, sturdy body). Heelers are known for their 'herding' talents of which they need a purpose in life...must give the brain something to do. Strawberry is 1 1/2 yrs old (gave Birthday of 3/28/21.) She is alert, affectionate, house trained but not to the point of getting your attention and asking to go out. That will come with bonding. She is not good with cats... We are working on it but I have my doubts that I could get to the point of totally trusting her. She is somewhat leaving my inside cats alone...but she still has the look in her eye. That may change with time. Great with dogs!. ////////////// STRAWBERRY is not very tall...she is a bit stout and weighs 31#s. She already has the cropped tail which is a process done in the US...Australians like to leave the tail normal. I do believe she is a purebred. In order to do well with Strawberry, you need to be a 'Heeler' lover. This dog is not for the 'first time owner.' She is very sweet, affectionate, and has great potential. She came from the Laredo ACS of which they do have lots of Heelers down there...many of the people are farmers and lots of 'country' living.
