About Cinnamon

Adoption Fee: $150
German Shepherd / Pit Bull
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment for the pet. When you get a dog or a cat, you have to be prepared to be its caregiver for the duration of its life which can be from 10-20 years, depending on the pet's age. Once you've taken an animal into your home and made him or her part of your family, you have an obligation to protect and nurture it for its lifetime. And this means providing proper food, shelter, exercise, medical treatment and plenty of love! Local adoptions only--within 50 miles of Quail Valley/Menifee in southwest Riverside County because we deliver adopted animals to their new homes to see where they will be living, plus we have found that local adoptions work out best. Beautiful Cinnamon is a petite mixed breed dog (medium size approximately 34 pounds whose top 3 breeds are American Pit Bull Terrier, German Shepherd Dog and Golden Retriever, according to her DNA test results. Cinnamon's date of birth is 10/19/13. Cinnamon lost the only home she ever knew when her family moved out of state. Needless to say, this was very sad and traumatic for her, but she has recovered and is doing well. She is friendly and loves humans. She gets along with kids, cats and other small dogs. She seems to get along better with small dogs. It appears she hasn't been around other dogs prior to coming to the rescue and is not well socialized with other dogs. She is not a dog to take to the dog park. She is well behaved in the house and knows many obedience commands, such as sit, stay, down, paw, come, leave it, etc. She loves her toys and likes to play fetch and go for walks. Miss Cinnamon is a sweetheart, a great dog who is chipper, easy going, calm and obedient. She is a great companion and a great addition to your family! Cinnamon looks and acts young and is healthy. She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. $150 adoption fee, cash only, which is to help reimburse for a portion of expenses of dog rescue and rehabilitation. Adoption contract required. We are looking for adopters who are willing and able to care for this dog for its lifetime (several more years). Location: Quail Valley/Menifee, Southwest Riverside County. Local adoptions only; within 50 mile radius because we deliver animal to its new home to do a home/yard check. Please note: L.A. and Orange Counties are out of area because of traffic and difficult, time-consuming drive.) . We prescreen potential adopters before setting up a meeting. If interested in this dog, please tell us a little about you, your family, your lifestyle, your other pets, your experience as a dog owner (which breed, etc.), where you live (which city in a home or apt) and what you are looking for in a dog. Thank you. Our adoption process involves submitting a completed application and then meeting the animal by appointment. We have the best interest of the animal in mind and our goal is to find a good, permanent home for each of our rescued animals. We have the right to decline an application if we feel it is not a good match/fit or suitable home. If you like the animal and we both feel it is a good match, an application and adoption contract is completed. A convenient day/time is arranged for us to deliver the animal to its new home to do a home/yard check (to make sure the home and yard is safe and secure). We will collect the adoption fee (cash only) when we deliver the animal to its new home. All our adoptions are on a trial basis because our goal is to have a successful adoption where the animal has a good permanent home and never ends up in a bad situation again. We ask that you give the animal a chance to adjust and settle in his new home and environment. Going to a new home with new people and a new environment is traumatic and stressful. It will take time for the animal to become comfortable around you and his/her new home. This should be a bonding period where you get to know the animal and connect with it, spend time with it and take things slow. He/she will need to get to know and trust you and learn the rules of the house and what is expected of him/her. This takes time, sometimes 2-3 weeks. During this time we will hold the adoption fee and if the adoption is not working out, we ask that you contact us and return the animal and we will refund your adoption fee.
