About Harley

Some dogs you look at and think, 'Why, Why would anyone do something this evil to you?' Harley is one of those survivors! Harley is a female, 3 or 4ish poodle mix that was abandoned during the California heat wave in a backyard for 5 days! No food, no water along with two other small, male dogs! She was so matted that when we weighed what came off of just her, it was one full pound of hair! We couldn't even tell what sex each dog was due to the severity of the matting. It became very clear that her neglect had gone on for years! Her neglect has made her timid and scared. Until she gets comfortable with you, she lowers herself to the ground, trying hard to be invisible. She is hesitant with men and take a lot longer to warm up to them. She would be lost forever, we fear. Since separating from the boys she was found with she has truly blossomed. She has proven she can love her female person and loves pets and attention. She has found that lap time and snuggles are pretty great! This little survivor is going to need a patient, loving adopter that is willing to give her time to decompress so that she can show you what she can be! With love and patience we expect this little girl to just continue breaking out of her shell and becoming her best doggie self! She is crate trained, working on potty training and will come to you spayed, vaccinated and microchipped! She does not yet walk on a leash, so no apartments for her, she needs a fenced yard for her transition. Get your application from Unbreakabull and get it turned in! Why wait?
