This little princess is Libby. Libby just turned 7 years old and is a 15lb Bichon Frise. Libby was a girl used for breeding until the breeder passed away. Since the family did not want to continue the business, we were asked to take her. Libby has adjusted well to her foster home and has come a long way in just 4 weeks. She was scared to be picked up and nervous around people but has now started following her foster mom around and enjoys an afternoon of cuddling on the couch next to her person. Libby has a quirky personality and has the cutest tendencies, one of which is the way she begs for belly rubs. When Libby discovered how wonderful it was to have gentle human touch she started asking for more by either sitting back on her haunches or lying on her back and waving her front legs up and down Libby loves routine and catches on quickly. She is close to being housetrained. As long as she has a routine and you watch for her signs, she does really well. Libby loves soft blankets, and soft food, and will sleep through the night in her human's bed. She is working on stairs within her foster home and gets more confident every day. Libby's ideal home would be one where her people can hang out with her most of the time and one where routines are in place. She is fine with other pets and would likely gain more confidence having another dog to model behaviors after. Libby is working on walking on a leash and would prefer a fenced-in yard where she can explore safely. While Libby takes a bit to trust people, once she has had time to know she is safe and given the space to share her sweet personality, Libby is a wonderful pet and companion. Libby is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm tested, and microchipped. She just had her teeth cleaned September 23rd.
