About Teddy

Teddy is a 4 year old purebred Welsh terrier sweetheart. He is housebroke, crate trained, obedience trained, heels well on a leash, & knows some tricks. Teddy has had a deck & a fenced-in yard for the last 4 yrs but I have recently moved into a retirement community. So now, because of the HOA rules, he HAS TO BE on a leash all the time he goes outside. He is not happy about that & neither am I. He is used to being able to go sun himself on the deck, chase the squirrels, play ball & frisbee & go do his business. When I am gone he is fine for a number of hours in his oversized crate. Teddy needs more activity & a fenced-in yard in order to be able to play ball & catch a frisbee again, to take care of his business plus so that he does not run off. He is not a digger but does like to chase things & he will run off. He is extremely friendly with all people but is not too sure about other dogs & can be protective. He can warm up to some other dogs if given enough time in a neutral territory. Teddy is not really a barker. He will bark a bit to announce a stranger or an unusual noise but quickly stops & finds a rope or toy to shake. He gets 1 Apoquel tablet dropped in his food every morning due to slight allergies. Teddy likes to engage you & will bring you his ball, then bring you his rope, then his chewy and if you don't like any of those things, he'll bring you his pickle. He is trained not to get up on furniture & to 'leave it' if food is on a table. He does like to cuddle at night, so he only gets on furniture when I actually pick him up (about 24 lbs) and put him in my lap or next to me on the couch. All of his belongings will go with him: his nitetime regular size crate, his daytime oversized crate, grooming tools, toys, shampoo, etc. I am sad that I need to re-home him. Teddy has been an amazing dog for me but he needs much more activity & a fenced in yard to be able to play again & hang out in. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or more pictures.
