About Nova

Adoption Fee: $325
Whippet mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Two-year-old, thirty-three-pound, Nova was seen being dragged into the woods by a chain and left there. A good Samaritan recovered her and contacted us. This gal was catatonic with fear. A few months at her foster home and she has blossomed! The closest breed Nova resembles is Staffordshire Terrier, but Nova is small and more angular than this breed. Nova is deeply affectionate, gives lots of kisses, loves her toys, and needs a securely fenced yard to do her zoomies. Nova's new home should be calm and routine, so she knows what to expect. Nova needs to slowly be introduced to change. Nova would enjoy a gentle dog pal who is older and calm. We want to stress that Nova will need a patient, experienced adopter who understand the importance of a calm, routine, and introduce change slowly to help Nova acclimate without fear. Nova would do best in a home where someone who works from home or is home most of the time. Nova is crate trained, good with the foster's outdoor cats, and is playful but still cautious. No aggression just timid until she warms up. She is healthy, fully vetted, and very pretty! Only mature kids who can understand Nova is a dog with fears. Apply at We reply only to completed applications only, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We prefer a fenced yard, but this is not required for all our dogs. We transport by land or air whenever possible.
