About Caleb

Adoption Fee: $525
Lab / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

9/22/22 Caleb, 3y 75# Lab/Bully Mix- fostered with several dogs- can be a strong puller Foster Notes: He has been with us in foster for two months now and is just about a perfect dog. Caleb seems unable to cope with the stresses of the shelter environment and I would prefer to see him go straight to a permanent home from our care. All of that said, a few notes and pictures which I hope will be helpful. // Caleb is an affectionate and handsome three-year old dog. He is very house broken. Caleb settles down nicely during quiet time in the house and loves cuddles, scratches and brushing. Outside, he is energetic and loves walks and car rides. He walks well on a leash. Caleb behaves well with both men and women and with elementary school age kids. Caleb is protective of his people and their environment but not in an aggressive way. Caleb takes treats gently. He was slightly sensitive about handling his collar when we first met but much less so now. Caleb is friendly and playful with other dogs when given a proper and gradual introduction. He likes to maintain his space upon first meeting so a short meet and greet won't reflect his actual dog friendliness well. Likewise, the stresses of the shelter environment may not make for the best meet and greet with new dogs. Caleb has been cat tested. He was found not to be aggressive toward the cat but seemed so keen to approach the cat that he might not be the best fit with a cat family. On the other hand, he would likely do very well in a a family with one or two other dogs or as an only dog. Caleb is a wonderful all-around companion. **This dog is currently at the rescue in TX however you can secure this pup for yourself with a pre-adoption which means getting your app in, approved and then paying the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $525 which covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, HW testing, chipping, health certificate and transport fees. All our dogs come with a 30 day, money back, trial period to make sure they are the right fit in your environment but if it doesn't work you will have to foster until the dog gets rehomed. Tall Tails Rescue has a commitment to these dogs for their lifetime and we hope you do too! If you are interested in pre-adoption you can click the link here or copy/paste and fill out the app to get started:
