Hi my name is Opie and I'm a French Bulldog (may be mixed with a Boston terrier) I'm looking for a new home and would love to tell you about me...I'm a little quirky, cute, sweet and salty guy. I will be 5 in October, I'm UTD with my vaccines, have a microchip and I'm already neutered. My mom and dad are super sad that they had to ask Saving Imperial Schuver Dog Rescue to help me find a new home. They said there are some things I should tell you about me. The good stuff first. 1. I'm extremely playful and very high energy and always wants to be played with or loved on - who doesn't want that right? 2.I love going camping and hiking and taking walks. In fact, even though my leash manners are not so good because I get so excited to be out and meet new people and dogs that I pull, I really love being outside. 3.I absolutely LOVE all people of ALL sizes but I'm a bully breed and will jump and bump into everyone. I've never really been around really small kids but everyone thinks I'd be fine if supervised. I really love people but I can be protective when some people enter the home - not all, just some, I just bark; but that's my job right? 4.I know some basic commands: sit, stay, touch (although sometimes I can be stubborn and not listen...what did you say? 5. I'm good with all dogs, no matter what size but I prefer big dogs because they play harder and I don't care if they are boys or girls, I just like to play with them especially at the dog park! 6. Did I say I love being outdoors and would do really well with a backyard and probably having another dog as a playmate (neither of which I have now). 7. I like car rides - take me with you!!! Here is the other stuff that the rescue wants you need to know: 1. At 1 year old and they found crystals in his urine. He has been on Royal Canin Rx kidney diet ever since and had no problems in the last 4 years. He likes Just Food for Dogs Rx food to mix with it if he gets bored with the food. 2. Opie has fairly severe skin allergies that developed over the last year. He is seeing an animal dermatologist in LA and is on oral medications, immunotherapy (weekly injections), and must get special medicated baths 1-2x per week. 3. He is not crate trained, didn't do well in a crate as a puppy so the owners chose to confine him to the kitchen with a baby gate when they leave. 4. Opie has accidents when no one is home, he won't use pee pads he rips them up 5. Opie currently sleeps in his bed in the kitchen but would love to be closer to his humans.
