This pretty blonde pup is 7-year-old Kelly, a lively 13-lb. rat terrier/chihuahua mix. She is such a smart, trainable, adventurous, and playful girl! She is completely house-trained and well-mannered in the home. Kelly loves to go for leisurely walks where she can sniff and poke and leave lots of pee mails, and she can keep up the pace on a hike as well. However, she does have a serious case of 'Stranger Danger' fearfulness, particularly when she is on a leash, and she reacts to both humans and dogs by barking and lunging. You will need to understand leash reactivity and be willing to accommodate Kelly's need for space and help her overcome this fear. Back home with the people she loves, Kelly is an affectionate snuggler and enjoys a good belly rub. She would prefer a fenced yard where she can chase the squirrels and sunbathe on warm days. She loves to play with her squeaky toys! Kelly has always been an only dog and really would prefer to keep it that way. She doesn't have much experience with dogs as friends and might struggle with a doggy sibling. Cats are cool though, and she peacefully coexists with a couple in her current home. She also prefers women to men, so bonding with any man in her new home may take a while. Due to her dislike of meeting strangers, she needs a relatively quiet home without a lot of visitors coming and going; thus, a single person or a couple without children would be the best fit for Kelly. She's an 'all I need is you' kind of dog and she's hoping to find a person who feels exactly the same way!
