About BLUE

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY. WE WILL MAKE NO EXCEPTIONS. FLORIDA ADOPTIONS ONLY !!!! Experienced Frenchie adopters only and MUST have another young playful dog at home. Meet Blue! He is a 1.5 year old male french bulldog and weighs 30 lbs. Blue is a very sweet and friendly pup who absolutely loves people and other dogs. He is so loving and affectionate but can also be very playful and goofy! General Behavior: Blue is a go with the flow kind of dog. He loves playing and running around like any young dog but he also can be laid back and a big couch potato - he's the best of both worlds! Likes & Dislikes: Our little baby Blue loves mentally stimulating activities like lick mats and kongs. He loves having a yard to run around in but also really loves his naps. He loves playing rough and can be a bit mouthy when playing. Training: Blue is very trainable frenchie! He is still learning his name and how to sit, but he does very well in a crate. He is crate trained and has no accidents when crated. He is almost completely potty trained and lets you know when he needs to go by waiting patiently at the door. He may have a few accidents while he is finishing his potty training so his new home must be patient with him as he learns. He does good on a leash but can pull at times. Medical: Blue is overall pretty healthy but does have some GI issues. He needs to be on a prescription gastrointestinal food for life as he seems to have a very sensitive stomach. Blue does better with a slow feeder and slow water bowl to aid with his GI issues. He currently is on medications to help with these issues as well as probiotics. Human food and tables scraps is not an option for this pup as it can immediately set off his stomach. It is important for his new home to be aware that his breed can be very sensitive and maintaining them healthy is not cheap. As a brachycephalic dog, it is important his adopters understand he is more at risk of having respiratory issues or heart strokes if not taken care of properly. Playtime outdoors should always be under supervision and short or during times where the sun is not completely out. He needs monthly flea and heartworm preventatives like any dog. He is currently not neutered yet but will be soon. Other Animals: Blue is great with other dogs and MUST have another playful dog in the home. He has gotten along great with his foster brother and sister. He is clumsy and can play rough like most bullies so I think he'd be better with younger dogs as opposed to older dogs who may be slower paced. He has not been around cats but because he can be energetic and playful I'm not sure that he would do well with a cat. Children: Blue is a medium size dog and may do better with older kids. While I think he would get along great with kids of all ages, his puppy energy may be too much for a younger kid or toddler can handle. Home: Blue needs a family home with a securely fenced yard and another dog to keep him company when you are working. His family MUST have experience with the French bulldog breed. Grooming: Blue is a short hair dog and doesn't require extreme grooming. However, as a French bulldog it is absolutely imperative to clean his wrinkles on his snout on a daily basis to avoid bacteria from accumulating and causing an infection. Keeping is nails trimmed and ears cleaned are also very important. Overall: Blue will be the perfect addition to a fun energetic loving family. Blue is a sweet boy and deserves a great life.
