About Sassy

Poor Sassy was dumped by her owner at the Maricopa kill shelter after evidence of utter neglect. This beautiful, matted chow mix girl is clearly a diamond in the rough who just needs some TLC. We are looking for a responsible, loving, preferably, chow savvy, adult home. Although she is a little shy at first, volunteers describe her as 'very sweet and timid, took treats and pets. Very sweet old girl needs out.' Sassy is listed at 8 years old, weighs 50 lbs, and has no reported medical issues, but is in dire need of grooming. Upon intake, she allowed all handling and vaccinations, but has become somewhat depressed in the shelter, understandably. Her prior owner reported she is spayed, potty trained, and lived at times inside, had no aggression, but was not around other dogs or people much. Sassy was said to be somewhat protective of her persons and barks at strangers as is typical of the breed, but was good with the 14 year old daughter, and is said to enjoy playing in the water. We do not know what she is mixed with but she looks also part Samoyed possibly with her longer tail.
