About Bernard

Hello, My name is Bernard. Im a very sweet, loving and playful boy who is looking for the perfect person to love me. I am shy at first. I haven't had good experiences with humans until my foster mom found me. She has shown me that humans aren't all bad and scary and that its ok to take my time to trust them. I love it when she scratches my chin and head at the same time. It makes me do my adorable slow lick. I love to run and play. I am a very calm boy until you come up to me and I know im going to get some good loves. Then I get playful and jump around with excitement. I don't know how to walk on a leash yet its still scary to me, but my foster mom is taking her time slowly working with me on that. I need someone who is willing to take their time with me but is ready to reap the rewards of all of the love that I have to give back. My foster mom has gotten me most of my vaccines, and can get my heartworm testing done before I go to my new home Bernard is currently in a foster home in Alabama.. We are trying to relocate him to a real adoptive home in Florida.. He needs a patient handler, preferably no toddlers or small children. A home with moderate to low activity would be good for him. Heeler experience and experience with shy dogs in particular, would be a bonus. Fenced yard would probably help too, since he needs more leash work. Bernard is very good with other dogs, he loves to play and is kind and respectful.. He can be heartworm tested and neutered before he makes his way to Florida.. We would need a committed foster or a foster to adopt situation for him to get him here. Anyone out there that could open their heart and home to this sweet boy???
