***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Pocatello 1 - 2 year old MIA is incredibly sweet, has a kind personality, and loves to cuddle. Her foster family calls her an 'awesome little love bug' and a 'solid A+ dog'. She always wants to be next to or on top of you, but is not needy and can be very independent. She is currently living with a mom, 15 year old, and 6 year old medium dog. MIA has some good basic training, but will need more and probably would do well with someone that can be a leader. She knows commands like 'come', 'sit', 'no', and 'out'. MIA is pretty good on the leash, pulls a bit. MIA is very social; plays so so well with all the dogs we have come across. She is submissive when a situation arises with other dogs being aggressive towards her. MIA is fine with cats. She did fine with her foster's cats and trial adopter's cats. MIA is great in the crate, does not beg for food, stays off furniture, and doesn't chew on things. She rides in her crate while in the vehicle. MIA needs work on re-call; if she is interested in something else, she won't respond to verbal commands and sometimes takes off. MIA is patient and we have not seen any reactive behavior from her. MIA can get a little scared and timid (likely from some previous mismanagement by her owner). MIA gets scared when you shout her name, so makes it more difficult to catch her. She is on leash for now. MIA is a little spooked by small children. She barks at them and jumps at them a little. She might need some patience working on that behavior. Occasionally, she will bark at strangers. MIA is very intelligent, so with a good leader, she will learn quickly. She is food-motivated and responds to positive reinforcement of good behavior. She does not stay interested in dog toys for very long. She will pick up random everything else items (shoes/ tool bag/ face wash/ glove/curtain drawstring) but doesn't destroy them...just mouths them. MIA is almost completely housetrained; taking her out every 3-4 hours will help with reinforcing good behavior.
