Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit. Next up to bat - Casey! Casey is a 14 year old Lhasa Poo - a Lhasa Apso Poodle mix - weighing in at 18 pounds. She was surrendered to one of our partner shelters due to the declining health of her owner. She needs to wear a diaper in the house because somewhere along the line she lost her house-training. Her foster is currently working with her on a scheduled routine. She doesn't mind the diapers, though, and doesn't wiggle out of them! Casey is blind and frequently bumps into things, including the other dogs in the home, so she would do best with other laid-back, tolerant dogs, and would probably do well as an only dog, too. She's done well adapting to her surroundings and can navigate the house and the yard. She can manage going up a ramp and a couple of steps to come inside from the yard, but needs to be carried down or else she'll face plant. She tested positive for Lyme disease and was treated with antibiotics, but she does not exhibit any symptoms. She is an otherwise healthy and spry little gal! Meal times are her absolute favorite times of the day, and she will 'woo' you while you're preparing her slow-feeder bowl. She loves pets and scritches, and if you put your nose to hers she will give you the softest and most gentle kisses you can imagine.
