About Tito

Welcome to rescue Tito, a roughly 3 year old neutered male smooth coast Russell terrier in Wilmington, NC. Tito saw a trainer and she is firm that Tito is a working Jack. If you are looking for a lazy couch buddy that's not him. He needs constant stimulus, nose work, brain work. If that scares you, you don't want a Jack Russell. He is true to the breed. He would be the perfect trial or agility kid. He CRAVES your attention. After a 45 minute training session he was pooped. We learned leave it and off and come. He was taught in his past life to sit pretty but gets vocal which should NOT be rewarded. He is very vocal and demanding. He doesn't like NO. Tito would be best as an only dog due to the attention he seeks. Tito is crated at night and during the Foster mom's work day but is a barker in his x-pen. He is a talker. He growls constantly which should not be confused with anger. Growling is not a bad thing. His body language speaks volumes. He was abused around his head, hit or slapped. He will freeze up in his legs and the trainer said to watch for the signs. He wants to be near you. Loves to be pet and go on car rides and for you to pay him attention. Tito wants to snuggle and sleep beside you at night. He has come a long way in a week, but still demands all of your attenti9n. He needs an owner committed to training and he will be an amazing loyal kid. Tito was an owner surrender who just stated they no longer wanted him (probably could not handle him!). He is in a home with 3 other Jacks but wants all the attention. NO kids. NO cats.
