Montgomery is an absolute sweetheart, a purring machine the minute you pet her or pick her up. Age estimated by my vet to be six to eight weeks old when she was rescued on July 19th of this year, she is now approximately nine to eleven weeks old. Found in the engine of a truck in Dinwiddie County on July 17th, her finder reached out on the Facebook page of a local cat group asking for assistance for this little one. From the pictures he posted of her she appeared either to have a cleft palate or a mouth injury. After messenging and speaking with her finder I arranged to pick her up from him on July 19th. Immediately upon pick her up my inspection of her mouth lead me to believe that she had likely sliced from her nose to her mouth while exiting or entering the car engine. Her tummy was riddled with red dots indicating flea bites which was confirmed with a Dawn bath which resulted in the water in my kitty tub turning red and my white towels with which I dried her turning red. A vet visit in July 20th confirmed my suspicions regarding her injury as both the vet who examined her and the vet who stitched her nose and mouth agreed that she had likely injured herself while in the car engine. Her recheck on August 4th revealed that her injuries had fully healed. During her recheck she was combo tested and was negative for both feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, dewormed and received her first distemper vaccination. She will be spayed, microchipped, dewormed for the second time and receive her distemper booster in advance of her adoption. Emery is just the dearest little girl. She has average kitten energy in that she loves to play with any type of wand toy and is a avid tussler on her Kong 8 track scratcher. Instantaneously upon being picked up this little one just melts in to you and revs up her motor purring loudly. She enjoys the company if my other rescue kittens, my personal cats and my personal dogs. The gentleman who found her stated that all of the kitties on his property have longer coats and appear to have some Maine Coon Mix in their background, hence I have listed her as a Maine Coon/Domestic Mix. Her coat which appears tuxedoed in her photo, black and white, has chocolate markings interspersed within the black markings on her sides making her fur pattern somewhat unusual and unique as I have only seen such markings once before on a tuxedo in my thirty years of rescue. If you are in the market for an absolute love bug who came both snuggle with you and entertain you with her playfulness and jumping prowess, she can doting like a bunny, then Emery may well be the kitten for you. If so please feel free to contact me. I do when possible like to receive a vet reference for potential adopters.
