About Jolene

Jolene was originally found as a stray in a small town in Texas. No one ever claimed her and a rescue took her in and found an adopter in Virginia back in May. Unfortunately she and their other little Chihuahua didn't get along and Jolene did a lot of whining and barking. That annoyed the owner and she wanted her gone. Instead of sending her back to Texas where they have so many stray dogs and dogs on death row in shelters, we decided to take in order to find her the perfect home. Little baby girl Jolene is 9 months old and weighs about 7 lbs. She seems to get along with other dogs at her foster home but likes to have all the attention by her owner and may do best as an only dog so she can be spoiled rotten like a little princess. Jolene and is very sweet and playful. She likes to chew on her toys and toss them around. She likes to be near her humans and she will need some training teaching her that her people always come back for her. She will whine and bark initially when her humans are out of sight. Jolene will need work with her house-training but will use a pee pad. With supervision she does pretty well if let out (with her human present) every 3/4 hours. She sleeps well inside her cozy crate in the bedroom. Jolene also likes to cuddle up next to you on the couch or armchair. She is a total love and cuddle bug! This is the kind of dog that can be brought along everywhere in a little carrier or doggie purse. Nothing makes her happier than being with her humans. Jolene walks well on the leash and LOVES going for car rides.
