About Wile E.

Adoption Fee: $350
Australian Cattle Dog / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

I adopted Wile E. in February of 2021 in Ontario, California from a woman and her husband whom told me she was re-homing him for an acquaintance who was not caring for him properly. She told me he was locked up in the backyard for the first 6 months of his life, which was how old I was told he was at the time of adoption, with little to no interaction with people or dogs. He was very skinny when I took him in, but he filled in and grew both bigger and taller quickly. He is around 55 lbs. now and is full grown. He then lived with my then partner and I, with her 20 lb. Pomeranian for the next 6 months. I took him on daily runs and had a walker during my work days take him out. He is by far the most loyal, smart and obedient dog I have had. He has been to several trainers along with my own readings, he is very affectionate with people he knows and is comfortable. He loves to lay on the couch while you read or watch TV and enjoys sharing the bed at night. He is very energetic and enjoys playing tug-of-war or keep away with toys. Most evenings he likes to squeak a ball and run around the yard. He can get restless if not exercised adequately during the day. Wile E. struggles with reactivity towards dogs and some people. Going for walks/hikes in populated areas can be challenging. At a far distance he does okay, but any closer and he tends to lunge and snarl. He has gotten away from me a few times and has ran up to other dogs barking in their face, but has no history of biting or attempting to bite other dogs or people. Myself and all the trainers I have been to see it as severe anxiety caused by not being socialized properly or possible poor interactions with other dogs at a young age. I feel he would fair far better and be happier with someone who could provide more resources than I am capable of. A large fenced property to run around on, and someone who needs to travel less than I do for work would be ideal. He is capable of getting along with other dogs with a very slow introduction, but they need to be non-reactive to his behaviors. An owner with prior experience with working breeds, and someone being able to provide continued training is what I'm looking for. I care very deeply for this dogs well being and am looking for the right fit for him and am willing to inform any potential adopters of everything Ive learned about him. He's a very sweet dog who loves to please his owner. I can facilitate a slow introduction to a full rehoming, we can do a few visits a week to start and if for any reason at all it is not working out I will take him back. Please call with any questions. I am asking $350 for adoption fees
