About Martin (Marty) Wulfric

Adoption Fee: $200
German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Marty is a 5 year old sable GSD. We got him at 18 weeks old and he has travelled all over New England with us. He is an avid hiker and loves to go on any adventure that you can come up with. He rides in our sidecar, loves kayaking, joins us boating whenever we go, is a maniac for a tennis ball and soccer ball, and the beach is his happy place. We have struggled having him interact with other dogs, though his pup cousin who only weighs 8 lbs is his best friend. He takes time to warm up to strangers, whenever he is meeting new people in our home we muzzle him to avoid errant nips until he has accepted the new person as a friend. Marty was hit by a car in 2019 breaking his pelvis in 3 places and shattering his femoral head. His pelvis healed nicely but 6 weeks later he had to have surgery to remove the femoral head, he now has a false hip but you'd never know it watching him walk and run. He enjoys going on jogs and jogs alongside us whenever we go biking. Once he has decided you're his human he is loyal to a fault. We want to find a new home for him since we've had 2 kids over the last 2 years and he just isn't getting the attention that he deserves. We're also moving oversees and are struggling to find a way to be able to take him with us. We will include any and all supplies that you could possibly need to make sure Marty is well cared for. He was raised with a doggy door and wireless fence around a big backyard, so depending on what you have there may be an adjustment to your home (he's smart and picks up things quick). We're looking for somebody who is extremely active and will give him good exercise every day. The vet has given him a good bill of health weighing in at 75 pounds. He was diagnosed with Lyme disease and since then has been on the Lyme Vaccine. We want to make sure you're the right fit for him so that he has a good happy life.
