About Tartan

I've had Tardy since 4 weeks old. He is now 4 months old, weighing about 43 lbs. He has been raised with two of his other siblings, which were adopted, my 2 other dogs (90 lb lab and 50 lb pit/lab mix) and little to teenaged kids. He has a good nature to him, is really affectionate, wants to snuggle, plays well with toys/ ball, responds well to commands and is 70% potty trained. We are working him with our chickens, but he is wanting to play with them, so we are still trying. He knows 'potty outside' 'backyard' and goes to the door when prompted. We are working on basic commands right now, too. His favorite puppy treat is ice- he goes crazy over it. He walks well on the leash and rides well in the car. (I take him with me whenever possible.) He does get excited and squirts, which we are working on, as well. One of his more GSD-looking siblings was genetically tested and came in at 23% German Shephard and the rest was a soup- almost everything at low percentages!! He is solid white with little beige freckles all over his face and front legs and his face is narrowing out a bit. His ears are classic GSD and 'radar' (perk up and stand up) randomly. We are neutering him in the next few weeks. My life situation has changed and, regrettably, I am having a hard time managing the kids, other animals, puppy, etc. The rescue is full and their fosters are all at capacity. I do not want to leave him alone for long periods, or anything like that. (I would keep this one, if I had the choice!!!)
