About Dixie

Dixie is a 14 yr old Labradoodle who is a retired ( in 2019) therapy dog. We have had her for approx. 10 months and brought her here to NH from VA where we relocated from. Her former owners gave her to us after having her for 13 yrs. I was her former pet sitter but had not seen her for two yrs. prior. We needed to secure housing here and have recently but they do not accept pets. My family is unable to take her unfortunately therefore we need to rehome her for what may be the last year of her life given the life expectancy of her breed. She is almost but not completely deaf and has glaucoma in her eyes. She is a very sweet and obedient girl so we are looking to find a loving home for her to be cared for in her last season of life. I could not bring myself to bring her to a shelter which would be an absolute last resort. She is wonderful with seniors as she used to visit nursing homes before she was retired. Could you please find it in your heart to give Dixie a home? We would love to rehome her right here in NH as she has acclimated well to the weather. And travel elsewhere could just cause her undue added stress. (We had given Dixie to my 79 yr old mother who is finding it to be too much for her, therefore we are reposting her.)
