About MONROE

PLEASE READ ALL REQUIREMENTS OR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! Meet MONROE! He's a 9-10-month-old husky mix that weighs 52lbs. Monroe is very active and loves to get attention. If you're active and want a companion that will be by your side on your daily walks or runs, Monroe is your perfect match! General Behavior: Monroe definitely got his behavior from the Husky side. He's a jumper, a runner, and loves the outdoors! He loves to chew but if you keep him entertained with toys, he will stay away from chewing anything else. He loves human and dog companions. Monroe likes to jump on the couch and cuddle with his human. He's stubborn but very intelligent! Likes & Dislikes: Monroe does not like to be left alone. When his foster parent is away, he likes the company of another dog. He's gets startled when he's indoor and hears noise outside. He barks at other dogs he doesn't know. Once he's comfortable, he's doesn't bark and is very playful. He likes to feel reassured by his human. Training: Monroe is potty trained. He knows sit, paw, down, and roll over. He likes treats and is a very quick learner. His foster would recommend an agility training course for him because he has a lot of potential to learn jumping tricks and much more. If you leave a door unlocked, Monroe will figure a way to open the door to get to his human. Medical: Monroe is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. He is currently on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Other Animals: Monroe must have another large dog companion. He loves to play with dogs and doesn't like being alone. He's currently living with cats but he's a puppy and likes to play with them by putting his paws over them. If you have a cat or smaller dog, just make sure they'll be okay with how playful he is. Children: Monroe is very playful and is great with bigger kids. He's good around toddlers but he likes to jump and forgets his size and strength. Home: Monroe requires a house with a fenced backyard as well as daily walks around the neighborhood/park. He needs a tall fence since he likes to jump. He does well with potty training when on a consistent routine, so that will be important to keep a good schedule going. Grooming: Monroe has short hair and sheds slightly. He's great at letting you bathe him and loves to be brushed. Overall: Whoever likes the outdoors and being active will be very lucky to have Monroe. He did a road trip to North Carolina and he felt at nature hiking trails. He doesn't leave your side and will keep up with you whether it's running or walking. He's got a lot of energy but is very sweet. To adopt a pet from Paw Patrol Animal Rescue & Sanctuary you must be at least 25 years old, be able to provide references and identification, consent to a home visit & pay the $450.00 adoption fee. We are located in Miami, Florida. Applicants should live within a 2-hour hour drive to Miami. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our rescue dogs are housed in private homes in and around the Miami, Broward and Palm Beach area.
