Bear is a wonderful 2 year old Great Pyranees with the double dew claws. Over the past 6 months with him he has been kind calm and gentle with everyone in our immediate family including our 1 and 3 year old children. Being a Great Pyranees he is very dominant and takes his job of guarding our/his house l, family, and property very seriously. As a result we are finding ourselves in a situation where there are certain key people in our life we can't have enter our home due to his deciding that they are not allowed on his property. We have had him evaluated by a dog behavior specialist and he has made great improvements- follows commands, great on walks, very friendly to everyone outside the home- however we continue to have the issue with him being the alpha of the house- not allowing in key people in our lives. We know the issue is with us- his owners- we are simply are not and have not been able to become the alpha he needs to give him the direction/instruction he needs. He needs a master who is familiar with the breed and is an alpha.
