My name is Liza, if you know me you know I have a house full of fur babies which I care for as if they were children. I have 2 dogs a Xena female 7 yrs., American Bully/Boxer mix and Zeus male, 6yrs American Bully they are brothers and sisters and have been together all their lives . In January, a good friend of ours their father (Joe, the owner) passed away at home unknowingly to friends and family for 3 day Zeus and Xena were in the home with his body. When they realize something was wrong, the neighbor lady called 911 Joe, had passed away 3 days earlier. The Campbell county sheriff, took Xena and Zeus to the the Yellow Branch, shelter in VA Joe, being such a good friend, I could not leave Zeus and Xena there hoping to keep them in our home for a life time. Not knowing the future, and the Lord's plans finding out I have a rare illness this is not going to work out for us because of my health. Due to a rare and potentially fatal disorder that I have been diagnosed with that has become uncontrollable (autonomic dysflexia spinal cord) with ADC, we cannot keep these dogs, with Kentmy husband, work schedule long hours leaving between 3 &5 am good morning, until 9:00 p.m. some nights later. My blood pressure being as sporadic as it is ranging from 179/100 with a heart rate of 115 bpm, hourly. With the very real possibility just sitting, standing, or bending over in the wrong position, among many normal everyday routines, that's taken for granted could leave me with a brain aneurysm, a stroke, a massive coronary, at any moment. There is no cure for this, they cannot place the damage in the spinal cord thinking that it could be a closed head injury from childhood. We are doing our best with a coordinated team of doctors, between Lynchburg and Norfolk Sentara to get it under control. Both Zues and Xena are both up to date on their shots, been neutered and/or spayed. Have all of their medical records going back to the owner before Joe. They are very good pets, they both deserve a good home kept in open kennels at night together, through the house and outside during the day, They have not harmed none of my cats, but they do like to play chase, if spoken to they will stop in their tracks, they will not harm them, If the cat does not run they will not chase. I have two other dogs they get a long with they are a great family additions. This breaks my heart! Joe was such a great friend of ours! I know this is a great deal to ask, I need help finding these two a home they've been together since birth, I really don't want to separate them but, God will have what will be, if they get a good home it will have to be. Please help me in my search? I don't know what else to do, I don't want to take them back to the shelter but it's coming down to the point where my blood pressure is staying up constantly even with medication and I'm scared that someone will end up with them that won't love them as much as we do...
