About KOA

LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY! Koa is a cute 10 week old, 5 pound Chorkie (Chihuahua Yorkie mix) puppy! He was born into rescue on March 23rd. Based on the weight of mom and dad we are guessing that he will be about 15 pounds fully grown. Carefree Koa is very social, and all puppy. He loves to romp all over the house, play with toys, and engage in a good wrestling match with the other dogs in his foster home. When playtime is done he's up for a cuddle and a good nap. Koa is a sweet, bouncy, happy explorer who loves to play. He likes rope pull toys, crinkle toys, stuffed toys, and tug o' war. When play time is over he sleeps with his brother Pika in a playpen. Don't be fooled by this cute little face! Puppies are a lot of work. Koa will need training and socialization, a lot of activity, time and patience!!He is a puppy who likes to chew and will need to learn what is appropriate for chewing, and what is not. We recommend getting a puppy pen to keep him in when he cannot be supervised. This also gives him a good place to sleep and nap, and a safe place to move around and play if you're busy or at work. Koa has been to the vet for a wellness check, has had all three sets of his puppy shots, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter will be scheduled at one of our vets as soon as he is old enough and is covered by the rescue. Because he has a pending vet appointment Koa is only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola.
