As for her breed, we are guessing on the breeds but she does look like a Basenji and is super quiet. Her sister, who looks just like her but just a smidgen smaller, had a DNA test that we think is probably the same for Starla... who knows? ***50% Cattle dog, 23% Chihuahua, 8% Dachshund, 8% Shih Tzu, and 10% 'SUPER MUTT' which they speculate could have some Poodle and Cocker spaniel. Isn't that a wild mix?! /////////////////Starla loves other dogs and loves to play. We really think her home will have to have at least one other playful dog. NO young children.' We expect she would be fine with a cat. //////////// Starla loves her foster, but at first, she could be some-what shy with a new person(s). Then again, she was adopted for one day (but the person's dog would not accept sweet Starla) and a great dog trainer recommended for everyone's best interest for Starla to come back to foster. In that day she was friendly with the humans and even ate out of their hand! With a little love and patience, she'll be curled up napping with her head in your lap in no time. She startles easily and will require a quiet home. Starla is very quiet herself and rarely barks. She is super friendly with all other dogs she has met. She needs leash training and will need a secure, fenced-in yard. Once she gets to know you, she is super playful especially in the mornings and evenings when she really loves to play. /////////////////////// Starla is from a litter that we have worked hard on socialization. Welcome to rescue...that is the reality... some dogs need extra socialization and some need expensive vetting. The adoption fees only cover a small part of what it takes. It takes fosters and great rescues and a village to save these lives! //////////////// Our usual fee on puppies (including transport from TX where all our dogs come from because a typical TX shelter kills 100s of puppies/dogs/week) is $595. We have lowered her fee for you. /////////////// Our wonderful foster hopes you will consider fostering after Starla gets settled because she loves other dogs and how would YOU get to meet her if we didn't have a wonderful foster for her! We hope you will consider that but it is NOT a requirement.
