Ivy is a 3 year old catahoula mix (with possible hound). Ivy is incredibly energetic, very intelligent, loving, athletic, affectionate and loyal. Ivy has great recall and is very treat motivated. 1 month ago ivy was attacked by another dog and tends to have anxiety around some dogs which can lead to aggressive or fearful behavior (growling, tail between legs, baring teeth, barking). Ivy was adopted at 6 months old and was previously a stray in Hawaii. For this reason Ivy has trauma and can be fearful of men in particular. She can demonstrate aggressive behavior when fearful (same behavior as towards some dogs when fearful). Not much experience with children or cats so I am unsure if she would do well in a house with either. I am interested in re-homing her because I separated from my partner and am unable to care for her on my own while working full time. My ideal would be for her to live on a large piece of property or at least have a backyard. She would do well on a farm with lots of space to explore. She would do well with someone who is confident and experienced with dogs, motivated to work with her anxiety, has the time and space to invest in her and is physically active.
