About Cammy

Meet Cammy! This majestic beauty came to Meowy Me when her previous companion unfortunately went into a long-term care facility. Cammy is large and in charge at fourteen pounds. (Pandemic pounds! We all gained 'em!) She prefers to chirp instead of meow, and it's the cutest 'hello' you've ever heard. She enjoys pets, exactly three belly rubs, Temptations treats, and catnip mice. Her beauty is obviously unmatched. Just look at those eyes! Cammy's front paws are declawed and she is vaccinated, spayed, and FLV/FIV negative. She is litter box trained and enjoys a nice window to bird watch. She is estimated to be between 3-5 years old. She is a sweet, affectionate girl who would enjoy a quiet home without small children, loud noises, or other cats. SPECIAL NEEDS-Like most of us, Cammy deals with anxiety. She is on daily medication that she takes easily sprinkled on her food, and she will likely need to stay on it for some time. It is possible she would eventually acclimate to a peaceful environment and be able to forgo it. She has adjusted beautifully since arriving here, but a potential adopter should expect a minimum acclimation time of about a month. To adjust happily, Cammy will need a quiet place to decompress (perhaps a bedroom) and a person who will speak in gentle tones and avoid excessive noise (like a vacuum) during her initial adjustment period. Someone who will let her hide and figure out on her own that her new home and companion(s) are safe. Once she has had time to realize that, she will come out of her shell and be the happy, chirpy, loving girl she is now. NOTE-If Cammy feels threatened or is over-stimulated, she may hiss or bite. (Her anxiety medication has all but eliminated this behavior!) She will also 'love bite' during play. She will require special handling for veterinary visits. Though this beautiful girl is special needs, she is SO worth the extra steps. She wants nothing more than a home of her own and a human friend to spend her time with.
