Located in Franklin, TN. Blue is a 7 year-old boxer/pit mix. He is a very loving dog who enjoys snuggling and playing. He also enjoys walks and actually has a bit of a hop in his step because he gets excited. He will also jog a bit with you if you're up for it. Blue is very calm and mostly likes to relax, but perks right up if you want to play or go outside with him. Blue enjoys plush comforters and snuggling with them in his crate. He also enjoys stuffy toys, balls, kongs, and chew bones. Blue's previous owner passed away and he is now looking for a new home. Blue was reportedly bullied by children before rescue and is now afraid of them. We are working to explore this but it is a challenge as his foster home does not have children. The person who cared for him after his owner's death had children which he seemed to be fine around. He does NOT have a bite history, we are just being careful in this area as he seems uncomfortable. Will not adopt to a home with children until we know more. Blue is a cuddle bug who will come and place his head on your lap a few times a day if you work from home. He will also demand a few pets by pushing your arm free of the keyboard. He loves hugs and will even take a nap with you if you lay with him on the dog bed or floor. He LOVES being brushed and will come to lean on you to get his brushes in. Blue would benefit from working with a trainer regarding his fear of children. He is happily learning the 'release' cue with toys. Once he learns a skill, he really enjoys the routine of it and knowing he is accomplishing something. -- If you are interested in adopting please call or email his foster at 504.931.9082 or [email protected] for more information. $250 adoption fee covers the cost of vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, and keeping up to date on heartworm prevention through adoption. This is a savings compared to the average cost of $500 for vetting in the Nashville area.
