About Buddy

URGENT!! WILL BE EUTHANIZED SOON!! Buddy is a beautiful 1 year old Australian Kelpie and terrier mix PUPPY with gorgeous amber eyes, and he weighs just 35 lbs. Buddy is a shy and sweet boy that looks for comfort. Buddy currently has a broken leg and has a cast on, so he is not feeling his best and would really like a comfy and warm bed to rest in rather than a kennel outside. Despite his broken leg, he is very sweet and seeks love from the volunteers when they take him out. He will accept treats when he is given them, and he will tuck himself under your arms so you can pet and hold him. He is also good with other dogs. Buddy came in as a stray, but a microchip was found, and when contacted, his owners never came to get him. Buddy is really looking for a family that will show up for him when he is lost and found, and he's hoping to find his forever home soon so he never has to be back at the shelter injured and alone again. Buddy has been at Baldwin Park Shelter since January 15th, and a second rescue plea was sent out March 16th which means he is VERY urgent and will be approaching a 72 HOUR NOTICE for euthanasia soon---so this is an EMERGENCY!! A good forever home or a foster is needed ASAP to save Buddy's life. If you are out of state, Buddy is still adoptable so long as someone comes in person to adopt him from the shelter, or you have a reputable rescue that will get him for you.
