Meet Heidi, a 1.5 year old Australian Cattledog who weighs around 30 pounds. Heidi was a stray and was rescued by Good Samaritans. She didn't know what it was to be a house dog, but is quickly learning. Heidi has already learned to sit and has learned to walk on a leash. She is also learning heel. Heidi has started house training but needs more work. Heidi is a typical herder in that she prefers a polite introduction to new people. She can be nervous at first, so a quieter home and one without small kids is better for her. Heidi is definitely not an apartment dog. She also needs a home that doesn't leave her alone in the yard, as she can jump a fence to find her people at the front door. Heidi would likely do best as an only dog, but maybe could live with a polite dog her size or larger. We have no idea how she would be with cats. Heidi has the makings of a fun, active companion. She is learning about the leash and is fine in the car since she gets to go somewhere with her person. She also loves to fetch. Heidi is a little bit of a project but someone who knows the breed should find her typical, and thus easy to train. She is definitely a loyal girl who will be devoted to her person(s). Heidi is located in Garden Grove, CA. The vet thinks she is spayed, but her new person will need to double check. A home visit and vet reference are required. We do not ship dogs, so adopters must be able to meet and adopt here.
