About Sylvi

Adopt Sylvi!!! Sylvi is a 14 month old, 80+ pound, Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix who unfortunately had a failed adoption. Those are rare with us, but occasionally we have one. We pride ourselves on proper placements, want nothing but success for our animals and adopters - we are always a resource for you and will always help in any way possible! We are committed for life!!! She is a fun, goofy girl who absolutely loves to play, be active and make you laugh! She is fantastic with babies and children too!!! She is very active with toys, loves dogs of all sizes but unfortunately she was to much for her previous family to handle. See Sylvi is still a puppy that is a mix of energetic but Extremely Intelligent breeds! If given proper direction, consistency on her training skills, good brain and physical stimulation with a touch of patience - she thrives! She did not do well with a senior cat in the last home, but the training, boundaries, time and consistency was lacking tremendously. You cannot adopt a puppy and expect perfection. You must condition your puppy to 'leave it' and proper expectations to get the best results - so depending on the home we still think she may be able to overcome her excitement with cats. She has only been back in her original foster home a few days and she's doing great!! Sylvi needs her next home to be her real Forever home! She needs them to understand that she's still a puppy for another year!! She needs introduction on leash in the home to guests, having her 'sit & settle' before guests pet her, so she can learn impulse control and not to get overly excited and jump on them. She really just needs a patient adopter that knows all she wants is to love and please you! One who will have the time to guide her, provide boundaries, give clear expectations and truly love her for the amazing girl she is! Sylvi is potty trained, can tolerate the crate for a few hours at a time and does have a good concept of her basic skills - but she will need a family to reinforce those and build her into the best well rounded girl we know she can be!!!
