I need to rehome my 7 year old rat terrier mix, Magic. I was told he is a rat terrier mix when I adopted him from the shelter at approximately 6 months. I think he might be mixed with lab? He has really pretty tri-coloring with spots. He's a very sweet boy and is quite happy to lounge by your side most of the time, as long as he gets a walk or playtime to tire him out a bit. My daughter is autistic and she stims a lot. It honestly makes him a bit nervous when she's moving around unpredictably. We are moving out of state soon and can't take him along to our new living arrangement. I probably should have found him another home a long time ago, but I really didn't want to give him up. I feel like this could be best for him, though, to find a better situation. He's a huge snuggler. He absolutely loves visitors. He's a fast learner and would respond well to dedicated refresher training. He knows several tricks and loves working for treats. He's fine with most dogs. Not sure if he would be okay with cats, but he chases squirrels and birds in the yard. I crate trained him from the start, but he transitioned out of the crate about 4 years ago. He still uses the crate when we visit others and he loves it. He's completely potty trained. He'll destroy a good chew toy, but he doesn't bother things that aren't his. He's a little overweight right now and on a diet currently. I just spent a lot of money getting a complete work up for him and all his tests show that he's healthy. He does need his vaccines updated and I'd be happy to help with that.
