Sophie is about a year and a half old and a very calm and sweet girl. We rescued her in very poor condition. Whomever had her severely neglected her to the point of blindness. Her eyes were completely crusted over and bone dry. We sent her to an eye specialist, and she had some extensive testing. It was found she wasn't producing tears which was extremely painful for her, and she needed eye medications 4 times a day and pain meds twice a day. After many months of treatment, and 4 different Vets, we chose to remove her eyes to give her a better quality of life and a healthier future. She would have needed a lifetime of medication and daily pain meds, and she is only 1.5 years old. Even blind, Sophie gets around very well listening to her foster mom's footsteps or the sound of the ball bouncing so she can follow it. She has adjusted very well and is now ready for her own forever home. If you're interested in meeting Sophie, please contact our rescue and complete our application. Sophie is also spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated.
