About Alaska

Adoption Fee: $600
Siberian Husky
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

'Hi, I'm Alaska! I am a cute, sassy, blue eyed girl, with a huge heart! I can be shy at first, but I love people and other dogs. I am what humans call super strong husky, because I can walk around like any other dog, but with just 3 legs! I was found very depressed and had given up all hope in life, when my wonderful rescue mom found me! She took me in to her private shelter, got me checked by the vet, spayed and I'm now ready to find my forever home! The friends at PawesomeBaby will be bringing me to the Pacific Northwest soon, to find me that special family. I love making doggie friends, play with them, but I also enjoy having some time for myself. I may do better in a home with bigger humans, and no cats. I like to get out and read daily neighborhood news, and not spend all day sitting in a closed backyard. It helps my mental and physical health. However, my legs are not yet strong enough to do long hikes or climb mountains. I'm looking for a special human to do little adventures with! Are you that special human? You can also foster me, to see if I'll be a good fit for your home, before making me family' ------- About Alaska: ------- Alaska is a sweet husky girl, 20 kg, estimated to be 1.5 yr old. She is friendly and affectionate with people, but can act shy at times. She doesn't like to be left alone; prefers to be in the company of another dog or people. Her exercise requirements are moderate. NOTE: available for adoption in WA state, Northern OR, Vancouver BC ------- She loves: ----- %BD%BD%BD'%BD To go on not-so-long walks! She loves exploring the outdoors! She makes a good walking buddy, to get you outside the house for short walks everyday. %BD%BD%BD'%BD To be around humans or other friendly dogs! She prefers to be in the company of others, just like all pack animals. She gets along with other dogs at the boarding. Not super playful. %BD%BD%BD'%BD Training when treats are involved! Aka positive reinforced training. We don't know if she's potty trained. But all dogs usually take a couple of days to figure out where to do their business in a new home. %BD%BD%BD'%BD To shed fur! ;) Just like all double coated breed. %BD%BD%BD'%BD Enjoys apartment, townhome or a house with private yard! To enjoy a healthy life, dogs need to get out for daily walks, sniff and explore their neighborhood; ideally a min of 20 min walk in the morning and evening. Because of that, it doesn't matter what type of home our dogs go to. As long as you enjoy getting out to exercise them. However, if you do have a yard, it must be fenced escape proof and the fence must be at least 6 ft high. The prey drive can get dogs to escape short fences. ------- Health status: --------- One front leg needed to be amputated presumably following a car accident. ------- Training status: ------- Expect rescue dogs to not know any basic commands, or potty trained. We have fostered several of such dogs. Usually they pick up basic commands like 'sit', 'come' in a couple of days. And potty training too if you stick to a strict schedule and guide them. Her adoption fees is 600 CAD (450 USD) which includes her travel crate. Contact me to learn more about Alaska. For more information about the rescue work we do, checkout PawesomeBaby.com
