About Desiree

Do you have a dog that needs another happy, playful, fun-loving and energic furry sister? She loves her pup friends at doggie daycare so a family with other playful and fun furry family members is a must. Desi really loves her furry friends and enjoys going on 'double date' walks with them. Since she is on the shy side, another dog always gives her the boost of confidence she needs when she is out on walk. She is even playful on walks with her foster friends and it's just adorable to see. Cute head tilt and beautiful markings! Desiree is gorgeous and just absolutely stunning in person. She has the most gorgeous coloring and beautiful facial expressions. Her coat is silky soft, and she has velvety ears. She is a head turner! Desiree loves to run and play and is silly with her stuffed toys. She is just a joy to be around and makes you smile! She has a slight shy personality with brand new people, but she will quickly warm up to you and steals your heart. A family that will have safety measures in place for doors, on walks, and in a fenced yard until she settles in and is safe would be great! A solid, sturdy 6ft fence is needed for Desi. She loves being outside and playing in the yard with other dogs and people. She is currently working on leash manners, so a family wanting to work on positive reinforcement training is important. She likes going on walks with her furry friends, so grab a partner and take two! She has learned SIT but not DOWN or the 'infamous' word NO; however she is treat motivated so that is always a great way to train! Also, within the fenced yard working on recall training with treats as well. When excited she jumps up so that we are working on with her. She is very sweet and can definitely be a snuggler or lap dog and would like to cuddle with you on the sofa. She will lean in on you to give her some love and attention. She is crate trained and is working on potty training. She finds her crate to be a comfort zone. Unless with her people, she is crated because she is still in a chewing phase and likes to find paper to tear up. We are introducing her to car rides and she loved going for a ride for fun things like a pup cup treat. We believe she will be a good companion in the car. Since she feels safe in her crate, a travel crate may be a good option for her. Desiree has been treated for heartworms and will be retested by our rescue until then she will be local adoption within 1 hour radius of Wake Forest, NC. She is a 2-year-old, 45lb female Hound mix. As part of Desiree's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
