About Bear

LOCATION: Circleville, Ohio - AGE: 5 years - As his name implies, Bear is a giant teddy bear full of love! He is a low energy guy who loves being next to his family getting pets, being brushed, and just generally loved on. He likes to offer his paw when receiving attention to let you know to keep the love coming. Once his attention quota is met and he is ready for a nap, he likes to have his space and will go to his bed to relax. So far, his foster parents have not had to crate him, and he is doing well when left out alone. He also walks well on a leash and is brushing up on his basic obedience skills. His foster mom says he is very gentle with everyone - he will even let you trim his nails and clean his ears! He has been very calm and poised during his vet visits, showing no interest in the other dogs and people at the vet office or out on the street. However, when it comes to meeting other dogs, slow introductions are best for Bear. As far as introductions to cats, that is a no go! Bear is too focused on them. He has not shown signs of resource guarding, however, he is being fed separately in his foster home to play it safe - always a best practice until you have really gotten to know a dog! And for his meal, Bear can be a little fancy (aka picky)��%BD'��%BD| He prefers to have wet food mixed in with his dry food, but who can blame him for being a guy that knows what he likes and sticking to it?
