Please note that we will ask for a vet reference. Name: Angel Baby Age: 5 years Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador Retriever mix -- Large/90# Sex: Female, spayed Location: Fannin County, TX Vet Information: Angel Baby has been with her current owner since birth when she was abandoned with her littermates on her owner's property. She is not current with her vaccinations but has an appointment at the vet in mid-January to take care of all vaccinations, heartworm test, and any other preventative care needed. Angel Baby is spayed but not microchipped. She is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Angel Baby was born blind in one eye, which may be partial blindness based on her owner's observation. She is also deaf in one ear. Her skin is very sensitive to the elements so she typically wears a shirt in the summer to mitigate sunburn and a sweater to stay warm in the winter. She is otherwise healthy. Owner report: Angel Baby is a very sweet natured, indoor dog with the run of the house. She's housebroken and leash trained. Angel Baby had basic training with a local trainer. She knows cues for come, sit, leave it, and lay down. Angel Baby is an active girl who requires daily walks. Upon the passing of one of her owners, and due to health issues of the other, her owner is no longer able to provide the exercise that Angel Baby needs. Angel Baby can be nervous and shy, but her owner feels that she is capable of adapting to new situations as long as someone is willing to take the time to work through her shyness. She does best with women. While she has not shown any aggression towards people, Angel Baby's owner reports that she does not do well with men and has difficulty trusting them. Angel Baby currently lives with four other dogs, but she has had some territorial issues with them since the passing of one of her owners. She prefers to be the first at everything, including getting out the door, getting to the toys, and getting attention, and she is very protective of food. She has snapped at the other dogs and had some incidents, so her owner has been segregating her during meals to mitigate further issues. While she gets along with one of the dogs she lives with, Angel Baby appears to be dog selective, so her owner believes that she would do best as an only dog. Since her breed mixture falls into the working breeds, her owner believes that Angel Baby would highly benefit from a structured environment with specific tasks and additional training to work on her behavior. She is hoping to find Angel Baby a home that will provide the activity that she needs. Her owner would like you to know: Angel Baby has been a strong protector of her family and kept coyotes out of the yard. She loves chasing squirrels and anything else that crosses her path! Her size and strength present a challenge to her owner. While she doesn't want her to go, her owner feels that she can no longer provide the care that Angel Baby needs. She would love to find Angel Baby a new home filled with love and lots of work and activity! Does anyone have room for sweet Angel Baby? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
