Dutton came to us from a lady who shouldn't have had a puppy. Her home was too crowded, and she didn't give him the time of day. When we got him in December, he was overwhelmed by the dozen or so other dogs, young kids running around and all the adults in the house. Dutton quickly learned that the other dogs were fun, the family he lived with was safe and he likes them, and that he is scared of little kids and new people and will run and hide from them. That's why Dutton's forever family can have children 12+ years old. Dutton is a total sweetheart and once he gets to know you, you will have a buddy for life. He doesn't let his foster mom go into the next room without him, but he still hesitates around new people and some other members of the family. His family will need to be patient, and understand he may never be that dog who wildly greets strangers with a big hello. He is doing well with house training. At about 9 months old, Dutton only weighs 18 lbs and he will stay small because he's a mini-something with short legs, we certainly can't be sure what his true mix is. Dutton is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered, included in his $475 adoption fee. If you live in the northeast, transport is an additional $135.
