About Elf

Poor Elf is ready to start the new year in a new home. He came into our rescue after he was attacked by a large dog. He suffered several puncture wounds, a ruptured testicle, a dislocated hip and a broken pelvis. He was immediately neutered to remove the ruptured testicle, then once he arrived into rescue, he had orthopedic surgery to repair his hip. A screw was placed to hold his hip together. The screw should not have to be removed unless it causes complications in the future. His broken pelvis will heal over time. His stitches were just removed and he is ready to find his forever home. Elf is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 4 pounds. Due to his size and injury, NO YOUNG CHILDREN OR LARGE DOGS in his new home. He is a very sweet boy but extremely fragile & skittish. He is very low energy and really only gets out of bed to eat, drink or potty. He currently uses potty pads and does not go outside at all. Mainly due to needing restricted activity while he heals but also because he is an escape artist. He can squeeze through the tinniest openings, including a baby/puppy gate.
