About Ranger

Ranger. Male Catahoula, 3 1/2 years old, 77 pound, healthy, strong, playful, loving, intelligent, protective, fearless, hard working dog. My wife and I live in a small place but hook him to our bikes on a Dogger Jogger and we go 3-5 miles a day with him pulling us like a sled dog. He doesn't destroy any of our things and is quiet as can be leashed up or left alone off leash by himself. He has every great quality a dog could have with one drawback, aggression with strangers. He needs time to build trust with someone to feel comfortable in their presence. When ignored he's a perfect gentleman, but approached to soon with uneasy energy he'll bite. Recently I warned two friends away from home whom he just met not to reach down to pet him until he came to them but they didn't listen and he gave them a warning bite on the jaw which drew blood. He doesn't give a warning growl so if you cross his line he'll bite. Give him time and he will come to you with playfulness, love and affection. My wife and I love Ranger so much and don't want to let him go but realize he needs a home where he can be the dog he's meant to be. We're not giving him up to just anybody, you have to be full of love and have a strong will to take care of him and give him a good life. Best, Scott, Elle and Ranger.
