Sutton was turned in to an overfull Texas shelter with a Boxer and 5 puppies. She didn't even have a name, her 'owners' just said we are also turning in this brown dog, so that's what they called her, 'brown dog.' The shelter assumed that the pups belonged to the boxer but come to find out they didn't' know and when we pulled her it became clear that the pups belonged to her. Sutton%A0spent her%A0first night%A0in her foster home searching for her pups. We were able to find bottle feeding pups but unfortunately her milk soon dried up. The foster where she is currently has done their best but truly isn't the best fit for Sutton. She will escape a yard if she's bored and has the opportunity. When we first got her she was food reactive but in the last few months that has lessoned as she learned she was safe. We recommend that she is fostered if there are other dogs and you're not home because she recently had an issue with the fosters mastiff, however the foster left food on the counter and left Sutton and her other dogs loose in the home against our policies. This resulted in a dog fight but no one knows who started it or what exactly happened but this is the only issue she has ever had like this. She is very much a Shar Pei personality and will bond quickly and incredibly deeply with her family. She will protect her family if she feels there is a legit risk and she is incredibly loyal. Shar Pei's are very emotional dogs and have 'big feelings' so that's something to keep in mind. Sutton is a 'lover' as reported by her foster family and is going to make some family incredibly lucky.%A0 If you're interested in fostering or adopting this delicious floofy squish please contact us ASAP. https://petlover.petstablished.com/pets/public/750603?awo=High+Plains+PAW&widget=false
